Junior Iranian freestyle wrestlers have produced commendable performances at the Constantin Alexandru & Ioan W. Popovici and Dumitru Pirvulescu & Vasile Iorga in Romania, and took the crown in the international tournament.
The young Iranian sportsmen garnered three gold, three silver and five bronze medals to lift up the trophy.
Russia finished as vice champion. Representatives from Kazakhstan claimed the third spot.
Reza Alijanzadeh, Ali Savadkouhi and Sajjad Gholami won three gold medals in the 57-kilogram, 74-kilogram and 79-kilogram weight classes respectively.
Majid Dastan, Amirhossein Maqsoudi and Amir Yari came second in the 61-kilogram, 65-kilogram and 125-kilogram divisions, and got three silvers.
Amirhossein Kavousi, Seyyed Sajjad Seyyedi, Abbas Foroutan, Sajjad Azizi and Na’im Hassanzadeh settled for five bronze medals in the 70-kilogram, 86-kilogram, 92-kilogram, 97-kilogram and 125-kilogram weight categories respectively.
