Macedonian central midfielder Najdenov joins Iran’s Esteghlal soccer club

Macedonian soccer player Bojan Najdenov has signed a contract with the professional Iranian Esteghlal Football Club, which plays in the Persian Gulf Pro League, as a central midfielder.

The 26-year-old, who is characterized by accuracy of long passes, will be playing for the Tehran-based club on a one-and-a-half- year contract worth 450,000 euros.

The contract signing ceremony was attended by Esteghlal’s Chairman Seyyed Reza Eftekhari and head of the club’s board of directors Pendar Tofighi on Monday afternoon.

Najdenov started his playing career with FK Horizont Turnovo football club, which currently plays in the Macedonian Second League, in 2011. He stayed with the team for five years, capping 128 appearances and scoring only 8 goals.

He then moved to FK Rabotnički, which competes in the Macedonian First League, in 2016, before signing with Egyptian professional football team Smouha Sporting Club the following year. 

Esteghlal Football Club stands in the sixth spot in the Persian Gulf Pro League table, with 32 points.

Persepolis Football Club is the top-ranked soccer team in the rankings, with 51 points.

Zob Ahan Isfahan Football Club has bagged 38 points to claim the second position, while third-place Foolad Khuzestan Football Club has earned 37 points. 

Saipa Football Club has landed in the fourth spot with 35 points. Football Club Pars Jonoubi Jam has claimed the fifth place with 34 points.
