The Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) and Syria’s Ministry of Information have signed a number of agreements on mutual cooperation.
The documents were signed during a visit by Abdolali Ali-Asgari, the IRIB’s director general, to Syria, Iran’s Young Journalists Club news agency reported on Saturday.
Ali-Asqari traveled to Syria at the invitation of Syria’s center for media and cinematic production.
The Iranian national broadcaster has maintained interaction with its counterparts in neighboring countries, most notably Syria and Iraq.
Over the recent years, media cooperation between Iran and the two Arab neighbors have intensified in the area of battling Takfiri ideology.
Takfiri terrorists have been wreaking havoc in Syria and Iraq. While they have been defeated on many areas by the national armies of the two Arab countries, they continue to remain active in other parts.
Several journalists and media staffers serving the IRIB have either been killed or sustained injuries while covering the developments on the ground in the two countries.
