Iranian Paralympic shooters have impressed the audience at the 2017 World Shooting Para Sport World Cup in Croatia, and collected three medals, including two silver ones, at the prestigious international sports event.
On Monday, Mehdi Zamani vied for the top honor in men’s P1 10-meter air pistol SH1 contests at Streljana Pampas Osijek in the eastern Croatian city of Osijek, and scored 235.0 points to snatch the gold medal.
Damir Bosnjak from the host nation claimed the silver medal with 230.9 points. Jungnam Kim from South Korea finished third and earned the bronze medal with 211.6 points.
Moreover, 32-year-old Paralympic champion Sareh Javanmardidodmani landed in the second spot in the women’s P2 10-meter air pistol SH1 competitions, and bagged the silver medal after accumulating 236.5 points.
Turkey’s Aysegul Pehlivanlar notched 237.7 points and seized the gold medal. Hungarian shooter Krisztina David settled for the bronze with 211.3 points.
The Iranian squad also received the silver medal at the end of men’s P1 10-meter air pistol SH1 team competitions.
Serbian national team was named the champion in this category. Poles claimed the third spot and scooped the bronze.
The World Shooting Para Sport World Cup kicked off on September 22, and will conclude on September 26, 2017.
More than 100 athletes from around 20 countries are competing at the tournament.
