Iran's Shahrdari Sanandaj handball club has sustained its second loss in the first edition of the Asian Women's Handball Club League Championship in Kazakhstan, losing to Kaysar squad from the host nation.
On Thursday, the Iranian squad, which had lost to Kazakhstan’s Ilk 23-41 in its opening match the previous day, slumped to the Kazakh side 24-28 in the south central city of Kyzylorda.
The Iranian sportswomen will take on counterparts from Uzbekistan’s Uzbechka in their third game of the tournament on Saturday.
The first edition of the Asian Women's Handball Club League Championship started in Kyzylorda, Kazakhstan, on October 26, and will finish on November 1, 2016.
Three teams from Kazakhstan as well as teams from Uzbekistan, Iran and Qatar are competing in the continental contest.
The Iranian team at the first edition of Asian Women's Handball Club League Championship comprises Kazhal Amini, Samira Aliramaei, Siran Ahmadi, Delnia Mahmoudi, Asra Fattahi Kordestani, Sheida Abolghasemi, Shaghayegh Bapiri, Paria Faraji, Donya Amani, Siran Rajabinia, Asra Zandi, Mobina Zamani and Mozhgan Ghahremani. The contingent is under the tutelage of Nashmin Shafeian.
