Iranian men's national deaf soccer team has ended on level terms with Ukraine at the 3rd edition of World Deaf Football Championships in Italy.
On Friday, the Iranian sportsmen exhibited acceptable skills throughout the game, which was played in the southern Italian town of Eboli, and earned a 2-2 draw against the Eastern European opponents.
Mohsen Farzi and Mostafa Heydari netted Iran’s goals during the match.
The hearing-impaired Iranian soccer players are scheduled to take on England in their second fixture on Saturday.
The 3rd edition of World Deaf Football Championships opened in Eboli, Italy, on June 19, and will conclude July 2.
The tournament has brought together national deaf football teams from sixteen world countries, including, England, the Islamic Republic of Iran, Italy and Ukraine.
