Iranian female sports shooter claims gold in 2016 Hanover cup

Iranian female sports shooter Sareh Javanmardi has claimed the top podium place in P4 50m air pistol shooting competitions at the International Shooting Competitions of Hanover (ISCH).

On Tuesday, the London 2012 Paralympic Games bronze medalist scored 185 points to finish in the first place and win the gold medal at Hanover’s National Shooting Center.

Earlier in the day, the national Iranian team, comprised of Mehdi Zamani, Aliyeh Mahmoudi and Javanmardi, tested their athletic skills and precision in team P4 50m air pistol shooting contests.

Zamani accumulated 529 pints, Jacvanmardi 548 points and Mahmoudi 528 points respectively to help Iran be named the champion of the tournament.

The International Shooting Competition of Hanover in Junior and Senior sections started in Germany on May 7, and will wrap up on May 15.

The Islamic Republic of Iran Federation of the Disabled has dispatched a five-strong delegation to take part in the senior contests of the nine-day-long sporting event.

Javanmardi and Mahmoudi are vying for the top honor in women’s P4 50m air pistol shooting competitions.

Simira Eram and Masoumeh Khodabakhshi are in action in women’s P2 10m air pistol and R4, mixed 10m air rifle standing SH2, categories.

Zamani is competing against opponents in men’s P4 50m air pistol division.

Hossein Amiri is leading Iranian Paralympic sports shooters during the Hanover tournament.
