Iran gymnast grabs bronze at FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Challenge Cup

Iranian athlete Saeed Reza Keikha has pocketed a bronze medal at the Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique (FIG) games in the Republic of Azerbaijan.

On Sunday, Keikha scored 14.450 points to claim the third position in the men’s pommel horse event at the FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Challenge Cup at the National Gymnastics Arena in the Azeri capital city of Baku.

“That has been a long way to victory, I did a lot of training and showed all that I’m capable of at the competition, and won a medal,” the Iranian sportsman said.

Japan’s Tomomasa Hasegawa won the gold medal with 15.400 points, and Belgian gymnast Maxime Gentges scored 14.700 points to rank second.

The FIG World Challenge Cup in Artistic Gymnastics kicked off in Baku, the Republic of Azerbaijan, on February 19 and concluded on February 21, 2016.

As many as 45 male and 22 female gymnasts from 19 countries competed for medals during the international tournament.
