Iranian athlete Abdullah Jame’i has won a bronze medal at the sixth edition of Artistic Gymnasium Asian Championships in Japan.
Jame’i, who is making his first debut at the sporting event, scored 14.675 points to claim the third position in the men’s pommel horse competitions at the indoor Hiroshima Prefectural Sports Center in the southern Japanese city of Hiroshima.
The Iranian gymnast stood seventh among 29 other participants and advanced to the final round, where he competed against rivals from various countries including China, Japan, and South Korea.
Also on Sunday, Iranian athletes Hadi Khannarinejad amassed 14.925 points in rings and Saeed Reza Keykha bagged 14.575 points in pommel horse to stand fourth in their respective competitions.
The 6th edition of Artistic Gymnasium Asian Championships opened on July 31 in Hiroshima, Japan, and ran until August 2.
