Iran’s Foreign Ministry has summoned the caretaker of Switzerland’s embassy in Tehran to protest the Israeli regime’s malicious acts in the region and US President Donald Trump’s threats against the Islamic Republic.
The Swiss diplomat, whose country represents Washington’s interests in Tehran, was summoned by the Director General for the Americas Department at the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Issa Kameli, on Monday in the absence of the European country’s ambassador.
Kameli handed over Iran’s official protest to the Swiss envoy regarding any acts of mischief and expressed the Islamic Republic’s determination to respond decisively and promptly to any threat.
The Iranian diplomat condemned and rejected remarks that cause tension and are against international law and the United Nations Charter.
The Swiss envoy assured that he would immediately convey Iran’s message to the US government.
On Saturday, Trump said Iran will be bombed if it does not make a deal with the United States.
“If they don’t make a deal, there will be bombing,” he said in an interview with NBC News. He also threatened to punish Iran with what he called “secondary tariffs.”
In a post on his X account on Monday, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said US President Trump’s open threat of “bombing” the country is an affront to global peace and security.
“An open threat of ‘bombing’ by a Head of State against Iran is a shocking _affront_ to the very essence of International Peace and Security,” Baghaei wrote.
