The Israeli military has conducted fresh aerial assaults on the Gaza Strip, killing at least 26 people and injuring several others in the besieged Palestinian territory.

Reports said on Friday that at least 26 people had lost their lives in the Israeli strikes across Gaza since dawn.

The air raids included one targeting the Mishmish family home in the Nuseirat camp, in central Gaza, that killed two children.

Four people were killed in another Israeli attack on the Salman family home, west of Deir al-Balah.

Three Palestinians, including a journalist, were also killed when an Israeli airstrike hit the Shalt family home in the town of Zawayda in central Gaza.

According to reports, at least 70 Palestinians, including children, have been killed in Gaza in the past 24 hours.

Israel launched a genocidal war on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, after the Palestinian Hamas resistance group carried out a historic operation against the usurping entity in retaliation for its intensified atrocities against the Palestinian people.

So far, the occupying regime has killed at least 45,581 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured 108,438 others, in the blockaded territory.

During its brutal onslaught, Israel has targeted Gaza’s civilian facilities, including hospitals, in blatant violation of international law.

Later on Friday, the UN Security Council will hold an emergency meeting to discuss Israeli attacks on hospitals in Gaza, especially the Kamal Adwan hospital in Gaza’s northern city of Beit Lahia.

The session was requested by Algeria, which holds the rotating presidency of the UN Security Council for January 2025.
