The Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas resistance movement, has mourned the loss of two its fighters in an Israeli airstrike against a vehicle in the northern part of the occupied West Bank.

“They were martyred as a result of an Israeli drone strike, whilst planning an imminent operation against Israeli occupation forces in the Aqqaba area of the Jordan Valley as part of the Operation Al-Aqsa Flood,” it said in a statement.

The Qassam Bridges identified the two men as Muhammad Samih Kamel Ghannam, and Karam Hatem Muhammad Abu Arra.

It underscored that Palestinian resistance fighters will remain loyal to the blood of their fallen comrades, and will continue their struggle against the occupying Tel Aviv regime “until victory and liberation”.

The Brigades also saluted all Palestinian resistance factions, whose fighters continue to carry out operations against Israeli troops and clash with them across the occupied Palestinian lands.

Palestinian teenager dies after being shot near al-Quds

Separately, a Palestinian teenager succumbed to gunshot wounds he sustained during a raid by Israeli forces on a predominantly Palestinian district in East al-Quds.

Local authorities announced the death of the 17-year-old Omar Hussam Yaqoub Shuwaiki, adding he was severely wounded when Israeli forces fired live bullets in the Silwan neighborhood, on the southeastern outskirts of the Old City of al-Quds, on Tuesday.

The officials said Israeli police forces detained him despite his critical condition.

Eyewitnesses said they rushed to the scene after hearing three gunshots in Ein al-Luza area. They added that Israeli forces covered the wounded Palestinian teenager with a silver blanket before taking him away.

Israeli forces then summoned Shuwaiki’s father for questioning, before informing him of his son’s death.

Israeli forces detain 21 Palestinians in West Bank

Moreover, at least three Palestinians have been detained in the occupied West Bank’s Bethlehem, and seven more in the Qalqilya governorate, according to the official Palestinian news agency Wafa.

Three Palestinians were also detained in Ramallah, while another seven were abducted in Tubas and Aqqaba towns.

Another Palestinian was detained in the southern West Bank city of al-Khalil, situated 30 kilometers (19 miles) south of al-Quds, as well.

Israel has ramped up its aggression against Palestinians across the West Bank since October 7 last year, when it launched a genocidal war against the Gaza Strip.

Hundreds of Palestinians have been killed and thousands of others injured by Israeli settlers or troops across the occupied territory since the onset of the war.

More than 700,000 Israelis live in over 230 settlements, which are built since the 1967 Israeli occupation of the West Bank and East al-Quds and deemed illegal under the international law.
