Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has warned of the spillover of terrorism resurging in Syria to "the whole neighborhood."
In a post on social media platform X late on Monday, Araghchi referred to his recent visits to Syria and Turkey, saying he held “important talks” with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and “straightforward constructive discussion” with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.
“All agreed: NO ONE benefits from another war in Syria. Conflict carries 100%-guaranteed spillover of terrorism to the whole neighborhood,” Araghchi said.
Araghchi vowed that Iran will keep supporting the Syrian people, government and army “in their fight against terrorism.”
Important talks with President Assad and straightforward constructive discussion with FM Fidan. My trip from Damascus to Ankara was among rare direct flights.

He also expressed the Islamic Republic’s readiness to “assist and support regional de-escalation through dialogue and diplomacy.”
Araghchi arrived in Damascus at the head of a diplomatic delegation on Sunday, a few days after terror outfits led by the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) launched a large-scale assault in Syria and overrun parts of the government-controlled areas in the north of the Arab country.
However, Syria’s armed forces continue to fight foreign-backed terrorist groups in the northwestern part of the country, inflicting heavy losses on them.
According to a military source, intense clashes are underway in the northern countryside of Hama in parallel with joint airstrikes by Syrian and Russian air forces.
After his short visit to Syria, Araghchi arrived in Ankara early Monday and discussed the resurgence of terrorism in Syria and the anti-terror fight with his Turkish counterpart.
“The recent moves by terrorist groups in Syria and the spread of instability and insecurity in this country are in line with the Zionist goals,” Araghchi pointed out.
Since March 2011, Syria has been gripped by a campaign of militancy and destruction sponsored by the US and its allies.
In recent years, however, Syrian government forces, backed by Russia and Iran, have managed to regain control over almost all regions.
