Battling with terrorists

The Syrian army continues its operations against takfiri terrorist groups attempting to take over more areas in the northern and western parts of the Arab country. Syrian and Russian fighter jets jointly pounded the headquarters and operations rooms of the terrorists and targeted their convoys in Idlib as well as in the eastern and northern countryside of Aleppo province. The country’s air defense also intercepted a number of terrorist drones over areas around the city of Hama. Earlier, the Syrian military confirmed the killing of hundreds more terrorists and the destruction of their armored vehicles and equipment in Idlib, Hama and Aleppo. Clashes between the army and the foreign-backed terrorists erupted after Takfiri groups, including the Nusra Front, launched a surprise attack on some parts of Syria, last week.

Iran supporting Syria

Iran’s foreign minister has arrived in Ankara for talks with his Turkish counterpart, as part of regional discussions on the situation in Syria. Abbas Araghchi said upon his arrival that Tehran will offer Damascus all support it may need to counter terrorists. Araghchi also expressed hopes that Iran and Ankara reach an understanding that would bring stability to the region and prevent Syria from becoming a hub for terrorists. He also talked about his trip to Syria where he held talks with top officials, including President Bashar al-Assad. He said he held detailed talks with the Syrian president on the situation on the ground amid the resurgence of Takfiri terrorists in some parts of the Arab country. The top Iranian diplomat stressed that Damascus is prepared to stand up to the plot hatched by the terrorists and their backers.

US-Israel Gaza genocide

Israel’s former minister of military affairs has once again stressed that the regime is committing war crimes in Gaza, especially in its north. In an interview with Israeli media, Moshe Ya'alon said hardliners in Netanyahu’s far-right cabinet seek to remove Palestinians from northern Gaza and re-establish settlements there. Reiterating that war crimes are taking place in northern Gaza, he said Israel is carrying out an ethnic cleansing operation there. Ya’alon’s comments echoed previous remarks he made in an earlier interview, in which he said due to Israel’s ethnic cleansing campaign in Gaza, Beit Lahia and Beit Hanoun do not exist anymore. Ya-alon served as a military affairs minister under prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu from 2013 to 2016.
