Israeli forces have killed at least 10 Palestinians at a tent cafe in the “humanitarian zone” in Gaza’s al-Mawasi, as the ongoing campaign of violence and destruction by the occupying entity continues unabated.

A double missile strike from an Israeli drone late Monday killed at least 10 civilians at a small tent cafe in the al-Mawasi area, located to the west of Khan Yunis in southern Gaza, bringing the death toll from Israeli strikes across Gaza over the past 24 hours to 40.

“People go to this coffee shop to connect to the internet and the outside world or to watch a football game on the big screen. A drone fired at least two missiles at the café while people were inside. A witness said it was packed,” said an Al Jazeera correspondent reporting from Deir el-Balah in central Gaza.

He emphasized that the Israeli assertions regarding 'evacuation zones' and 'safe areas' are merely deceptive narratives.

Medics at Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis reported that the victims of the recent incident suffered severe disfigurements, with seven individuals currently undergoing surgery for their injuries.

Earlier, Health officials at al-Awda Hospital in Nuseirat, central Gaza, reported that 20 civilians were killed during a wave of air and ground assaults on Monday, as Israeli tanks moved into the Nuseirat refugee camp from the west, targeting residents and displaced families who tried to flee.

“Some people couldn’t leave and remained trapped inside their homes, appealing to be allowed out, while others rushed out with whatever they could carry as they fled,” said a resident living near the incident, adding that the tank attack on the refugee camp caught residents by surprise.

In northern Gaza, reports indicate a significant escalation of attacks, especially near Kamal Adwan Hospital and the central market in Gaza City, amid new evacuation orders passed by the Israeli military.

Health officials have confirmed that an Israeli drone strike targeted Kamal Adwan Hospital close to Beit Lahiya, resulting in injuries to three medical personnel.

In addition, four people were killed in an Israeli air attack on Beit Lahiya and many other have been killed in an air attack in Gaza City.

As the war in Gaza enters its 14th month, the Health Ministry reports that Israeli attacks have killed at least 43,603 Palestinians and wounded 102,929 others.
