The Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah says it has launched a barrage of missiles at an Israeli air base in the northern part of the occupied territories in retaliation for the occupying regime’s ongoing aggression against the Arab country.
In a statement released on Saturday, Hezbollah said it had fired “a salvo of rockets” at Israel's Glilot military base of the 8200 Military Intelligence Unit on the outskirts of Tel Aviv at 2:30 am local time.
The resistance group further noted that it had targeted twice the Zevulon military industries base near the northern city of Haifa with missiles.
Hezbollah also said it had carried out drone strikes at Palmachim Airbase, located a few kilometers south of Tel Aviv, earlier in the day.
It also stated that it had launched rockets at the northern occupied town of Safed, while the Israeli military said that sirens were activated following the arrival of “suspicious aerial targets” from Lebanon.
Meanwhile, a missile attack on the central occupied territories has left 19 people injured.
The Israeli ambulance service reported moderate to minor injuries, with the wounded transferred to nearby hospitals in the town of Tira.
Hezbollah has also carried out missile and drone attacks against five Israeli settlements in the Galilee, the occupied Golan Heights.
According to Israeli media, a drone struck a factory near the industrial area of Nahariya, while explosions were heard near Ramat David, an Israeli air force base located just 20 kilometers (12 miles) southeast of the city of Haifa.
Since late September, Israel has launched an intense air and ground onslaught against Lebanon after nearly a year of cross-border exchanges with Hezbollah over the war in Gaza.
The regime’s intensified aggression against Lebanon has seen it either attacking targets across the country without prior notice or issuing such notices minutes before launching its strikes.
Hezbollah has been responding to the aggression with numerous retaliatory operations, targeting the occupied Palestinian territories.
