Condemning UNRWA ban
Iran slams the Israeli decision to ban the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, UNRWA, calling it an attempt to block the delivery of the desperately-needed aid in Gaza. Iravani also slammed what he called Israel’s unchecked impunity for its systematic crimes in Gaza. Meanwhile, The UN chief also penned a protest letter to the Israeli Prime Minister. Antonio Guterres has warned against the devastating impact of the UNRWA ban on the humanitarian situation in Gaza and the occupied territories. He reminded Israel that under international law, an occupying regime must implement mechanisms for aiding the people living in that occupied territory. Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar also condemned the Israeli decision, calling it a flagrant violation of international law. They warned of the disastrous consequences of the ban on Palestinians in Gaza.
Israeli crimes in Gaza
The United Nations says Israel is seeking the eradication of Palestinians from their land by committing genocide against them. The UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in the Occupied Palestinian Territories says Israel’s Gaza genocide is a tragedy that risks expanding to other Palestinians under the regime’s rule. Francesca Albanese said that the Israeli regime since its establishment, has subjected millions of Palestinians to mass killing and incarceration, forced displacement, racial segregation and apartheid. The UN official made the statement in a report on the rights situation in the Palestinian territories which was made public on Tuesday. She also stressed that statements and actions by Israeli officials reflect a genocidal intent and conduct against the Palestinian people.
Hezbollah retaliation
Lebanon’s resistance movement, Hezbollah, has carried out several retaliatory operations against Israeli military positions, inflicting heavy losses on the regime. Hezbollah fighters managed to target two Merkava tanks in the town of Khiam using guided missiles. They also downed an Israeli Hermes-900 drone over the Marjeyoun area with a surface-to-air missile. The group also used rockets and artillery shells to target other Israeli positions across the occupied lands. Several Israeli military bases, including Yi’ron, Baram and Dovev, were among the spots targeted by the resistance fighters. Hezbollah said it fired rockets at gatherings of Israeli regime forces, killing and wounding several troopers.
