Hamas condemns Israeli aggression, commends Iran's air defense
The Gaza-based resistance movement Hamas has condemned Israel’s aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
In a statement on Saturday, Hamas said the Israeli regime sought to target three Iranian provinces—Ilām, Khuzestan, and the capital, Tehran—in the early hours of Saturday. However, Iranian air defenses successfully intercepted and thwarted the attack.
“We consider this a blatant violation of Iranian sovereignty and an escalation that endangers the region’s security and the safety of its people, holding the occupation fully responsible for the consequences of this US-backed aggression,” wrote the statement.
The statement added that the attack underscored the bloodthirsty nature of the Israeli regime. “This fascist aggression reaffirms the criminal nature of the occupying entity, which continues to shed innocent civilian blood in Gaza, Lebanon, and other parts of our Arab and Islamic nations, backed by the criminal military and political support of the US administration and certain Western capitals.”
The statement also highlighted Iran’s air defense capabilities in countering the Israeli aggression, stating, “We commend the Islamic Republic’s preparedness, air defenses, and successful counter to the Zionist attack.”
“We reaffirm our solidarity and support for Iran in confronting the arrogance and recklessness of the Zionist entity,” the statement noted.
