Hezbollah’s structure ‘solid, coherent’; Israel defeated in hybrid war: Qalibaf

Iran’s Parliament speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf speaks during a meeting with university students from across the country, in the capital Tehran, on Friday.

Iran’s Parliament speaker says the structure of Lebanon’s Hezbollah resistance movement is “coherent”, despite the Israeli bombings and assassination of its leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.

“Hezbollah's entire structure… is coherent, and it is fighting,” Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf said on Friday.

He added that the group is regaining control over the situation of the affected people, calling for supporting the movement politically.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Qalibaf noted that Israel has been defeated in the hybrid war.

“The issue that must not be forgotten is that today the Zionist regime has failed in the hybrid war strategically and militarily.”

Israel has been dealt heavy blows by the Axis of Resistance which has been conducting attacks on targets deep inside the occupied territories in support of Palestinians since October 2023.

Qalibaf said Israel has so far failed to achieve the goals of the war, including eliminating the Palestinian resistance and releasing its captives held in the besieged Palestinian territory.

To show that it still exists, “Hamas deliberately fired 20 missiles into the heart of Tel Aviv on the anniversary of the al-Aqsa Storm Operation,” he said.

Qalibaf said Israel has also failed to seize southern Lebanon, a month after it launched a ground offensive on the country.

“It has been more than a month that it has attacked southern Lebanon with 5 divisions to capture it, but it has not succeeded yet.”

Since late September, Israel has escalated its strikes against Hezbollah. At least 2,593 people have been killed by Israeli fire, and 12,119 others wounded since October 2023, according the health ministry.

The Lebanese resistance movement has vowed to keep up its operations against Israel as long as the Israeli regime continues its Gaza war.
