A senior Hezbollah official says the targeting of several branches of the Qard al-Hassan institution by Israeli forces has no justification and the strikes will have no financial impact on the Lebanese resistance movement.

The head of Hezbollah’s Media Relations Office, Mohammad Afif, made the remarks in a statement on Tuesday, a day after Israeli forces deliberately carried out assaults on the Qard al-Hassan branches in various areas across Lebanon.

"The bombing that targeted the Qard al-Hassan centers has no justification at all. It is a licensed civil institution, and Hezbollah does not receive its allocations from this institution,” he said.

Afif went on to say that the Qard al-Hassan institution was prepared for the aggression, adding that it “took all necessary precautions, and will meet its commitments.”

The Hezbollah official further noted that the United States is a partner in the aggression against Lebanon, stressing that the arrival of its envoy will not change Lebanon’s opinion that Washington “is the mother of terrorism.”

Elsewhere in his remarks, Afif stated that Hezbollah has regained its capabilities in terms of military and logistical support, adding that it has inflicted heavy losses on “the enemy”.

He also said Hezbollah claims responsibility for targeting the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s residence in Caesarea, north of Tel Aviv.

In another statement, Afif emphasized that the Israeli regime bears the responsibility of preserving the lives and health of Lebanese prisoners.

He also said Hezbollah has complete confidence in Lebanon's Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, reaffirming his firm position that “there are no negotiations under fire.”

Since late September, Israel has escalated its strikes on Hezbollah. The death toll from Israeli attacks on Lebanon since October 2023 has neared 2,500.
