Fighters from the Lebanese Hezbollah resistance movement have shot down an Israeli drone over southern Lebanon, and fired rockets at Israeli military positions in the occupied territories in retaliation for the Tel Aviv regime’s ongoing atrocities against the Gaza Strip and Lebanon.

Hezbollah said in a brief statement on Tuesday that its fighters in the air defense division struck the medium-sized and multi-payload Elbit Hermes 450 unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) in the early of the day.

It noted that the operation was carried out in support of steadfast Palestinians in the Gaza Strip as well as valiant and honorable resistance groups there, and in defense of Lebanon and its nation.

The Lebanese group also said its members targeted a group of Israeli forces near the al-Marj military outpost with a barrage of rockets.

Furthermore, Hezbollah fighters launched a volley of rockets at Israeli troops stationed in the Sadana and Barakat al-Naqqar area of the occupied Lebanese Shebaa Farms.

Earlier in the day, a group of Israeli troops came under a rocket attack at the Khillet Warda area.

Hezbollah also reported a rocket strike on the illegal settlement of Kiryat Shmona.

Additionally, fighters from the Lebanese resistance group engaged in clashes with a group of Israeli infantry troops as the latter were trying to infiltrate into Rab El Thalathine village in the Marjeyoun district from the eastern side.

In recent weeks, Israel has mounted its bloody aerial assaults on Lebanon, causing the displacement of at least 1.3 million people, more than a fifth of the country’s population.

At least 2,309 people have been killed and 10,782 others injured in Israeli air raids on Lebanon since early October 2023, according to Lebanon’s Public Health Ministry.

Over the same period, the Zionist regime has been waging a genocidal war on the Gaza Strip, killing at least 42,344 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injuring 99,013 others.

Hezbollah has launched retaliatory attacks on Israeli targets and vowed to keep fighting until the regime ends its aggression against Lebanon and Gaza.
