Iran’s foreign minister, Bahrain’s king urge end to crimes of Israel

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi (L) and Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa meet in Manama on October 21, 2024.

Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi of Iran and King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain have met and discussed relations and the latest developments in the region, most notably the escalation of Israel’s atrocities in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon.

Heading a delegation, Araghchi arrived in the Bahraini capital, Manama on Monday on a two-leg trip that will also take him to Kuwait.

The top Iranian diplomat placed a premium on the need for the regional countries to seriously work for an end to the Israeli barbarism, which includes the one-year-old campaign of genocide in Gaza and the aggression against Lebanon.

Araghchi called for the expansion of Tehran-Doha relations.

For his part, the Bahraini king called for an end to wars and aggression in the region.

Khalifa said Bahrain wants all the people in the region to live with dignity. He expressed hope that he would pay a visit to Tehran.

Israel has massacred over 42,600 people in the Gaza Strip and nearly 2,500 in Lebanon since October 2023.
