Iran cancels flights to prepare for Strong Response operation: Nournews

Sources say Iran is preparing for an operation to hit 35 strategic targets in the Israeli-occupied Palestine.

An account on the X social media platform which is affiliated to Iran’s Supreme National Security Council says that the country is preparing for an operation to hit 35 strategic targets in the Israeli-occupied Palestine after authorities ordered flights cancellations in several airports in the country.

The Nournews agency said on the X late on Sunday that flights cancellations that started 9:00 PM local time and will last until 6:00 AM (0230 GMT) on Monday was "apparently" a measure to prepare for the Strong Response operation rather than a precautionary measure against a potential Israeli attack on the country.

It came amid speculations that Israel might launch attacks on Iran’s energy and economic infrastructure in retaliation for ballistic missile attacks earlier this week by the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) on the regime’s capital of Tel Aviv and other areas.

Iranian authorities say the missile attacks, which targeted Israel’s military and security capabilities, were a response to the regime’s brutal wars in the region and its sabotage operations in Iran in recent months.

They have warned that Iran will respond forcefully and decisively to any new escalation by the Israeli regime.

Earlier on Sunday, an informed source from Iran’s armed forced told the Tasnim news agency, which is close to the IRGC, that the country had prepared a “Strong Response Plan” to swiftly react to any Israeli retaliation for missile attacks last week.

The source said that certain measures had been prepared to respond to a potential Israeli attack, adding that authorities would quickly decide to implement them based on the type of action shown by Israel.
