The armed wing of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas has claimed responsibility for a shooting attack that killed at least eight Israeli settlers in Tel Aviv.
“The Ezzedine Qassam Brigades takes responsibility for the heroic Jaffa operation carried out by the fighters from the (occupied West Bank) city of Hebron (al-Khalil),” the group said in a statement on Wednesday.
The shooting began when the attacker opened fire in the Jaffa area on Tuesday. It also resulted in several injures.
Hamas and other Resistance groups say such attacks are the "natural response" to Israel’s barbarism in Gaza.
Hamas warned at the time that such operations “will resume prominently” as long as the Israeli genocidal campaign in Gaza continues.
Nearly one year into the Israeli-US genocide in Gaza, more civilians are killed as Israeli air and artillery strikes continue to pound the blockaded territory.
