The Israeli military has carried out airstrikes against Yemen's strategic western province of Hudaydah, targeting oil facilities and power plants in the Red Sea port city.

The military said in a statement that its warplanes launched air raids on the port of Ras Isa in Hudaydah on Sunday, striking al-Hali and al-Khateeb power plants as well as “sensitive” facilities belonging to Yemen's Ansarullah resistance movement in the area.

The "large-scale operation" was conducted in coordination with the United States, using dozens of aircraft, including fighter jets and reconnaissance planes, it added.

The strikes caused power outages in most parts of the port city of Hudaydah, residents said.

It’s unclear if there were any casualties.

Hudaydah contains oil export facilities but is also a vital conduit for civilian goods and humanitarian aid to Yemen. Back in July, Israeli warplanes carried out airstrikes against the port city, leaving at least nine people killed and 87 others wounded.

The Israeli attack came a day after Yemen’s Armed Forces announced that they had targeted the Ben Gurion airport in the central part of the occupied territories.

The operation came amid the Israeli regime’s October-present genocidal war on the Gaza Strip and deadly escalation against Lebanon, which have respectively claimed the lives of at least 41,586 Palestinians and hundreds of Lebanese. Women and children comprise the majority of the victims.

The most recent stage of the escalation against Lebanon has seen the regime conducting dozens of airstrikes against the southern suburbs of the country’s capital Beirut. The attacks led to the assassination of the Secretary General of the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, besides causing several other casualties.
