Israel West Bank attacks

Israeli forces have carried out attacks across the occupied West Bank for a third straight day. Troops targeted a vehicle in the town of Zababdeh near Jenin, killing three Palestinians. The latest deaths bring to 21 the number of Palestinians killed in Israeli attacks on the West Bank since Wednesday. Troops have clashed with Palestinian resistance fighters during their latest attacks that focused on the cities of Jenin and Nablus. The situation is worst in Jenin. Israeli forces have continued their siege around the main hospital there. They've also restricted Palestinians’ movement in the city. Meanwhile, Palestinian resistance fighters say they targeted an Israeli infantry unit in Jenin with explosive devices, causing casualties among soldiers.

US-Israeli genocide

At least five Palestinians have been killed in fresh Israeli airstrikes on Gaza, as the regime continues with its military campaign in the besieged strip. Three civilians lost their lives after a residential building was bombed in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza. To the north, two Palestinians, including a child, were killed in an attack on the Jabalia refugee camp. Other parts of Gaza have not been safe from Israeli bombardment either. In a matter of 24 hours, around 80 Palestinians have fallen victim to the regime’s strikes. Israel’s military campaign in Gaza, widely condemned as genocide, is now in its 11th month. The death toll has topped 40,600. Most of those killed are women and kids. Thousands more are believed to be buried under the rubble.

EU Israel sanctions

European Union foreign policy chief Josep Borrell has proposed sanctions against two Israeli ministers for hate messages against Palestinians, which he said broke international law. Borrell did not name the Israeli ministers. But in recent weeks, he has publically criticized far-right Israeli ministers Itamar Ben-Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich for what he called sinister comments. The two Israeli ministers have sparked global outrage for their comments against Palestinians and their sanctities. Finance Minister Smotrich has suggested starving Gaza to free Israeli captives. Ben-Gvir has called for constructing a synagogue in the Al-Aqsa mosque compound. There is a lack of unanimous support among EU members for Borrell’s proposed sanctions. Ireland has backed the proposal, urging accountability regarding human rights violations.
