Iran: Israel on defensive as regime lost deterrence despite West’s all-out support

Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman says the terrorist Israeli military has lost its effective aggressive power and deterrence, and has no option now but to defend against strategic strikes.

Nasser Kan’ani made the comments on Monday following a large drone and rocket attack by the Lebanese Hezbollah resistance movement against Israel in retaliation for the assassination of Fuad Shukr, a senior Hezbollah commander, in an Israeli airstrike on a building in the southern Beirut suburb of Dahieh on July 30.

Lebanon’s al-Mayadeen television news channel, citing reliable information, reported that Hezbollah’s large drone and rocket strike against the occupied territories on Sunday was carried out "accurately and effectively."

Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah also called the retaliatory strikes “Arbaeen Operation.”

The Iranian spokesman said the occupying Israeli regime has always pursued territorial development but it must now “defend itself within the occupied territories.”

‘Time is not on Israeli regime’s side’

Despite the full support of the United States and its allies, the Israeli regime has even lost its deterrence capability to calculate the time and place of the resistance movement’s attacks when it faces a limited and planned operation, he added.

“The passage of time is not in favor of the Zionist regime (Israel) and its supporters,” the Iranian spokesman warned.

He emphasized that the Israeli regime is afraid of Hezbollah’s military attacks, which are currently carried out deep inside the occupied territories.

Kan’ani said Israel may be able to distort or conceal certain realities regarding Hezbollah’s retaliatory attacks “but it knows well that the existing facts will not be changed.”

“Strategic equation has fundamentally changed to the detriment of the fake Israeli regime. The myth of an invincible Israeli army has long turned into an empty slogan,” he stated.

Kan’ani also pointed to the reactions of the Palestinian and Yemeni resistance movements to Hezbollah’s retaliatory attacks against Israel.

He said the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas has praised Hezbollah’s unprecedented attack on the Israeli regime’s strategic targets and announced that the enemy’s “terrorism and crimes against the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples will not pass without a response.”

He noted that the Palestinian Islamic Jihad resistance movement also said that “these strikes have confirmed that the Zionist enemy understands only the language of force and is deterred only by the blows of the resistance and the fighters.”

Yemeni armed forces also praised Hezbollah’s drone and rocket attack and reiterated that their own attack against Israel in response to the regime’s airstrikes against Yemen’s strategic western province of Hudaydah in July is “inevitably coming.”
