Hezbollah retaliation

Hezbollah's Secretary General says the Lebanese resistance movement successfully carried out its operation to avenge the Israeli assassination of its senior commander Fuad Shukr. Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said Hezbollah launched some 340 katyusha missiles to help the drones reach their targets through the iron dome. The Hezbollah leader added that Israel tried to change the narrative and carried out what it called a pre-emptive attack on southern Lebanon. Nasrallah said that those attacks did not thwart Hezbollah’s strikes and were a failure for the Israeli army. Early on Sunday, Hezbollah launched its large-scale attack against Israel. The regime has confirmed one soldier was killed, and two others injured in a naval boat which was hit by Hezbollah. Israel has also declared a 48-hour state of emergency, as authorities ordered all universities and beaches in the port city of Haifa to be closed until further notice. Dozens of flights have also been suspended.

US-Israeli genocide in Gaza

More Palestinians are killed in Gaza as the Israeli regime keeps pounding the blockaded territory relentlessly with air and artillery strikes. In the west of Gaza City, Israeli warplanes targeted a Palestinian home, killing at least five people and injuring several others. Also in Gaza City, the Israeli bombing of a residential building in the al-Zaytoun neighborhood caused several fatalities. A number of Palestinians were also killed in multiple Israeli airstrikes on al-Nasr, Al-Biouk and other neighborhoods across Gaza. Israeli shelling also left an unknown number of civilians dead. The Israeli genocidal war which started in October last year, has so far claimed the lived of more than 40,400 Palestinians and injured over 93-thousand others.

Iran response to Israel

Iran’s foreign minister has described as ‘definitive’ the country’s response to Israel’s assassination of Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran. Abbas Araghchi says the response will be measured and well calculated. He added that unlike Israel, Iran is not seeking escalation but at the same time is not fearful of it. The top Iranian diplomat was speaking on phone with his Italian counterpart Antonio Tajani. Earlier, Araghchi also had a telephone conversation with Saudi foreign minister Faisal bin Farhan Al-Saud to discuss bilateral and regional issues. Both diplomats talked about the ongoing Israeli genocide in Gaza and regional spillover. They called for ramping up efforts to stop Israeli crimes in Gaza and supplying humanitarian aid to the Palestinian territory.
