The Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, has congratulated Lebanon’s resistant movement Hezbollah on its August 25 operation against the Israeli regime.

Hezbollah fired barrages of rockets and drones towards targets lying in the northern part of the occupied Palestinian territories in response to the July 30 Israeli assassination of Fuad Shukr, a senior Hezbollah commander.

Hezbollah Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said earlier in August that the fight against Israelis had entered “a new phase” after the assassination of Shukr.

On Sunday, the Qassam Brigades spokesman Abu Obeida said the Hamas armed wing congratulates the Hezbollah operation and appreciate the great sacrifices of the people in Lebanon and its Resistance fighters.

Obeida said Hezbollah’s operation reaffirmed the shift in the strategic reality for Israel since the October 7 Operation Al-Aqsa Storm.

He said Israel has no safety from retribution and there are no limits to the possibility of striking the Zionists anywhere and from any front.

Hezbollah has said it is “currently at its highest level of readiness and will stand firm and vigilant against any Zionist transgression or aggression, especially if civilians are harmed, in which case the punishment will be severe and very harsh.”

Israel had launched numerous airstrikes on southern Lebanon, claiming to “pre-empt” a “large-scale” retaliation by Hezbollah. Several Lebanese towns, including Kfar Malaki and Beit Yahoun, were reportedly targeted in the Israeli strikes.

Kounine Forest, the area between Zibqine and Yater, and al-Iqlim Heights were also targeted by Israeli warplanes in the attempt to stop “Hezbollah's preparations to carry out large-scale attacks” against Israeli military positions in the occupied territories.
