Israel’s violent airstrikes on the tents of displaced Palestinians in a hospital in the central part of the Gaza Strip killed several people and injured dozens of others.
The official Palestinian news agency WAFA said five civilians were killed and over 16 others wounded on Sunday morning when Israeli drones targeted tents housing displaced persons near the al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza.
The air aggression caused a large fire to erupt in the tents.
Three more Palestinians were also killed and several others injured in an airstrike on a home in Deir al-Balah refugee camp, west of the city.
According to WAFA, eight people, including children, were killed in the northern Gaza Strip, and several others were wounded when Israeli airstrikes hit a house in the al-Fakhoura area, northwest of the Jabalia refugee camp.
Israeli airstrikes were also reported to have targeted the al-Hasayna area west of the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, while intense artillery fire struck the area around the Gaza Power Plant and the Malaysian School north of the camp.
The occupying regime shelled the al-Zaytoun neighborhood in southeastern Gaza as well as the al-Tuffah and al-Sabra neighborhoods in the city.
‘Waterfall of blood’ in Gaza
The Government Media Office in Gaza condemned the Israeli “massacre” at al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, calling for international efforts to stop the genocidal war in the besieged territory.
“We condemn in the strongest terms this new massacre by the occupation,” it said, urging the international community to pressure Israel to cease its “genocide” and bring an end to the “waterfall of blood” gushing in the Gaza Strip.
Israel unleashed its genocidal war on Gaza after a surprise Palestinian operation that came in retaliation for the regime’s intensified atrocities against the Palestinian people.
However, 10 months into the large-scale foray, Tel Aviv has failed to achieve its objectives in the besieged territory despite killing at least 39,550 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injuring 91,280 others.
