Palestinian people have engaged in fresh clashes with Israeli forces and settlers who raided different cities across the occupied West Bank.
The confrontations took place after the Wednesday assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the political bureau of the Palestinian Hamas resistance group, in the Iranian capital Tehran.
In the al-Khalil governorate, south of the West Bank, Israeli troops carried out a series of raids and detained nine Palestinians, Wafa news agency reported.
They opened fire and suppressed a march at the al-Arroub refugee camp, north of al-Khalil city, where people were protesting Haniyeh’s assassination.
In response, Palestinian youth targeted the occupation soldiers with fireworks during the confrontations.
In the town of Tarqumiyah, west of al-Khalil, a fire broke out after Palestinians threw Molotov cocktails at a settler vehicle.
In another report, Wafa said that at least six people were abducted after the Israeli military stormed the Palestinians’ homes in the city of Nablus and the nearby town of Urif.
Two former Palestinian prisoners and a student of the An-Najah University were among the detainees.
Meanwhile, resistance fighters targeted settler vehicles with stones in the town of Huwara, south of Nablus.
Similar clashes were also reported in Bethlehem governorate.
Several Palestinians were injured in settler gunfire in Khallat an-Nahla area near Wadi Rahal village, south of Bethlehem.
Two settlers were also wounded as Palestinians attacked them with stones and closed roads near Efrat settlement.
Additionally, Palestinian youth targeted settler vehicles in Tuqu' twon, southeast of Bethlehem.
The Shu’fat refugee camp in al-Quds and the city of Qalqilya, as well as the towns of Anabta, Burqa, and Dayr Istiya were also the scene of skirmishes.
