The EU is in no position to discuss rule of law
The European Commission has issued its 2024 Rule of Law Report, criticizing Hungary, Italy, and Slovakia for failing to uphold democratic standards.
Critics argue that the European Union has exacerbated the devastation in Ukraine by extending the conflict instead of advocating for peace talks with Russia.
Additionally, concerns are being raised about the ultimate destination of the billions of euros sent to Kiev by the EU, given Ukraine's notorious history of widespread corruption.
These issues contribute to skepticism about the credibility of the European Commission's Rule of Law Report 2024, published on Wednesday.
Some analysts argue that the Commission, which shapes EU policies, is also accused of supporting actions leading to the genocide in Gaza.
Even the commission acknowledges that rule of law perceptions within the 27 nation bloc are dismal.
68% of citizens and 64% of companies believe that corruption is widespread in the EU.
Similarly, 65% of people assert high level corruption cases are not sufficiently pursued.

The European Commission's latest rule of law report slates Hungary, Italy and Slovakia for issues concerning democracy, judicial independence, and, press freedom.
However, the Commission remains unwilling to propose sanctions against Israel over its far more serious crimes.

In February, the European Court of Auditors, an EU agency, criticized the European Commission's Rule of Law reports for lacking transparency and documentation.
Despite some EU nations using Israeli spyware to target political opponents and journalists, the commission has not taken action against the Israeli government.
In the ultimate betrayal of rule of law, activists claim the European Commission, and several EU nations have been working to help Tel Aviv break the resilience of the Palestinians.
Many analysts believe history has shown that Palestinian resilience will never be broken by Israel.
