Von der Leyen retains position as EU Commission president

EU President, Ursula von der Leyen

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has managed to retain her position yet faces intense scrutiny for her policies, including funding Ukraine amid EU financial hardships and accusations of double standards.

However, she was excoriated by a sizable minority in the chamber with some even claiming she should be in prison.

She was accused of green lighting genocide in Gaza and of blatant double standards by not showing the same support to Palestinians as she does to Ukrainians.

40,000 civilians slaughtered, children burned alive in their tents, and still no consequences.

Colleagues today say no to genocide and say no to von der Leyen.

Von der Leyen was asked why she does not support peace in Ukraine after she intensified her criticism of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban's recent visit to Moscow.

The financial strain is compounded by stagnant wages and the lingering economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Families across the EU are faced with difficult choices, cutting back on necessities and dipping into savings to cover basic expenses.
