Hezbollah fires rockets on Israeli Tzuriel moshav in retaliation for south Lebanon attacks

This screen grab shows the moment that two rockets launched by Hezbollah hit the Israeli Tzuriel moshav in the northern part of the 1948 occupied territories on July 22, 2024.

Fighters from the Lebanese Hezbollah resistance movement have launched for the first time dozens of rockets at an illegal Israeli settlement in the northern part of the 1948 occupied territories in retaliation for the Israeli military’s attacks against southern Lebanon.

Israeli Channel 14 television channel reported that several rockets struck Tzuriel moshav in the Galilee region and impacted infrastructure and a building there.

The Israeli regime's Magen David Adom (MDA) emergency service said two people sustained minor injuries in Tzuriel and were evacuated to the Galilee Medical Center in Nahariya.

This is the first time that Tzuriel moshav, with a population of just 400 illegal settlers, has been hit. The community is not among those at the northern side of the occupied lands that have been evacuated by an official order from the Israeli regime.

Earlier, Hezbollah fighters launched an explosive-laden drone at the Israeli al-Malkiyah military site, which destroyed a section of a garrison and set it on fire.

The resistance group also destroyed spying devices installed at the al-Radar military site in the occupied Lebanese Shebaa Farms.

Shortly afterwards, Hezbollah fighters targeted the al-Raheb military outpost and completely destroyed the espionage hardware stationed there.

Later on Monday evening, Hezbollah carried out two operations against Israeli sites in response to the regime's strikes on the southern Lebanese towns of Yater and Khiam.

The first attack targeted a building housing Israeli troops at the Menara settlement. It came in response to the Israeli aggression on Yater, and caused a fire inside the targeted building.

The second operation saw Hezbollah members attack several buildings in the Metulla settlement in reprisal for the Israeli attacks on Khiam. It resulted in direct hits, and caused a fire in the area.

Hezbollah and Israel have been exchanging deadly fire since early October last year, shortly after the regime launched a genocidal war against the Gaza Strip following a surprise operation by Hamas.

The Lebanese resistance movement has vowed to keep up its retaliatory attacks as long as the Israeli regime continues its Gaza war, which has so far killed at least 39,006 Palestinians, mostly women and children.

Hezbollah officials have repeatedly said they do not want a war with Israel while stressing that they are prepared in case it occurs.

Two Israeli wars waged against Lebanon in 2000 and 2006 were met with strong resistance from Hezbollah, resulting in the retreat of the regime in both conflicts.
