The general elections in Britain have played out with a win for the Labour Party, longtime Israeli asset, Keir Starmer, has been thrust into power as prime minister. This is, of course, bad news for Palestine.
Before the election, Labour had claimed that one of Starmer's first acts would be to recognize a Palestinian state.
However, just before the election Starmer revised his position stating that such an act would harm Britain's special relationship with the United States.
Who are some of the pro-Israel individuals that have been wooing Labour and who are the other figures who have pumped last minute funds into the party just before the elections?
The new Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rachel Reeves, received close to 100,000 pounds from Israel lobbyist Victor Blank to cover 'office costs' over the course of a year.
Blank was chairman of Lloyds TSB and the Mirror Group newspapers. Through his charitable foundation Blank has funded Beit Halochem which pumps cash from Britain into the Israeli occupation forces.
Stuart Roden gave a last minute injection of 570,000 pounds to the Labour Party just a week before the election. Roden was filmed trying to provoke pro Palestinian protesters into attacking him at a demonstration.
Roden also co-founded the Israeli firm Hetz Ventures with Israeli intelligence officer Judah Taub.
Israel lobbyist Gary Lubner donated 349,000 pounds to MPs and 4.5 million pounds to labour in 2023 alone. He also, at the last minute, gave 900,000 pounds to the Labour Party just before the elections.
Israel lobbyist Jonathan Goldstein, a co-owner of Chelsea FC, who funded David Lammy's failed Mayoral run, has hosted Keir Starmer in a box at Stamford Bridge during the Gaza genocide.
Goldstein was photographed with the then Israeli Minister of Strategic Affairs Gilad Erdan at a meeting in 2017 to work on supporting Israel in Britain.
Starmer’s Labour Party will continue its rendezvous with Israel lobbyists while in power.
What will the lobby expect in return for the support it gave the party before it reached Downing Street?
