Yemen warns Israel of 'devastating response', says 'more resolved' to support Gaza

Yemen warns Israel of “effective operations” in retaliation for the regime’s deadly airstrike on the western Yemeni province of al-Hudaydah.

A senior Yemeni official has warned Israel of “effective operations” in retaliation for the regime’s deadly airstrike on the western Yemeni province of al-Hudaydah.

Mohammed Ali al-Houthi, a member of Yemen's Supreme Political Council, issued the warning on Saturday, after Israeli warplanes targeted buildings, oil facilities, and a power station in Hudaydah, killing at least three people and injuring 87, most of them with severe burns.

Houthi said in a statement that the “terrorist aggression” against Hudaydah is another “barbaric crime” committed by the occupying regime, which is waging a genocidal war on the Gaza Strip.

He added that the crime would not have happened without the support and participation of the US and Britain.

“We will have effective operations that will disturb the temporary entity, and this crime will not deter us from continuing to support the Palestinian Gaza,” he asserted.

Houthi also noted that the Hudaydah assault will increase the Yemenis’ steadfastness and unite them in the face of the Israeli enemy.

He further said that the Yemenis will continue their battle against the usurping entity in support of Gaza and the Palestinian cause.

The Israeli airstrike came a day after the Yemeni Armed Forces fired a drone at Tel Aviv, which is at least 1,800 kilometers away from their country.

The forces’ spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Saree said the attack was carried out with a new drone called “Yafa” that can “bypass the enemy’s interception system and (is) undetectable by radars.”

The Yemeni forces have been targeting the occupied Palestinian territories as well as Israeli ships and vessels affiliated with it since October 7, when the regime in Tel Aviv began its Gaza onslaught, killing nearly 39,000 Palestinians.

They have vowed to keep up their operations as long as the regime sustained the offensive against Gaza and a simultaneous siege that it has been enforcing against the Palestinian territory.

Yemen’s response ‘will be an earthquake for aggressors’

Additionally, on Saturday, the Ansarullah resistance movement warned that Israel will face “surprises” by Yemen’s “painful” and “impactful” retaliatory strikes.

Yemen’s “inevitable, strong and crushing” response “will be an earthquake for the aggressors,” said Ali al-Qahoum, a member of Ansarullah’s political bureau.

He also advised the Israelis not to rejoice too much as Yemen’s retaliation will be “agonizing.”

“You will not escape punishment; you will regret and lament, and your cries will rise,” Qahoum told the Zionists.

“Your choices will be either migration and return to where you came from or staying in shelters. American and British protection will not help you, and the hand that violates Yemen’s sovereignty and attacks its resources and people will be cut off.”
