A US-based Jewish peace group says Israel is continuing to commit acts of genocide against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip with full support from Washington.
The Jewish Voice for Peace made the remarks in a series of social media posts on Tuesday, as the Israeli regime’s genocidal war on the besieged territory enters its tenth month.
The Israeli regime’s genocide “is accelerating with full support from the US," the group said, calling for action against the occupying regime.
The Jewish activist organization further accused the Joe Biden administration of "actively assisting" Israel in committing genocide in Gaza, given its recent decision to resume transferring 500-pound bombs to the Israeli military.
"The US isn't just allowing the Israeli [regime] to commit genocide; it's actively assisting it. It's well past time for a weapons embargo," the group said.
Last Wednesday, a US official who spoke on condition of anonymity said Washington is set to resume shipping 500-pound bombs to Israel.
The official added, however, that the US would continue to hold back on supplying 2,000-pound bombs over what he claimed to be “concerns” about their use in the densely-populated city of Rafah in southern Gaza.
The US media also confirmed that the shipment of 500-pound bombs to Israel is getting underway.
In May, the Biden administration paused a planned shipment to Israel of 2,000-pound and 500-pound bombs amid concerns about Israel’s plans for a possible ground assault on Rafah, where 1.5 million displaced Palestinians have sought refuge.
Israel launched the war on Gaza on October 7 after the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas waged the surprise Operation Al-Aqsa Storm against the occupying entity in retaliation for its intensified atrocities against the Palestinian people.
Since then, the United States has supplied the Tel Aviv regime with more than 10,000 tons of military equipment and used its veto power against all United Nations Security Council resolutions that called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
The Tel Aviv regime has so far killed at least 38,713 Palestinians, mostly women and children, in Gaza, and injured 89,166 others.
