Lebanon’s Hezbollah resistance movement has conducted successful retaliatory operations against five major Israeli military bases in the city of Haifa and its vicinity in the northern part of the occupied Palestinian territories.
The operations were carried out on Saturday as part of the movement’s Khaybar series of operations and under the slogan, “We are at your service, O Nasrallah,” a reference to the group’s former secretary general, who was martyred during intense Israeli airstrikes against Lebanon’s capital Beirut in late September.
The targeted outposts, which were all struck with simultaneous missile salvos, comprised the Haifa Technical Base, which is affiliated with the Israeli Air Force and includes a training college, the Haifa Naval Base that hosts missile boats and submarines, and the Stella Maris Base, a strategic monitoring and maritime base.
They also featured the Tirat Carmel Base which houses a logistics base and transport battalion, and the Nesher Base, a gas station that serves the Israeli army.
The fighters also hit the headquarters of the Israeli regime’s Shayetet 13 special naval missions unit at the Atilit base south of Haifa, and the Shraga base, which is the administrative headquarters of the Israeli military’s Golani Brigade Command, north of the city of Akka.
Elsewhere in the northern part of the occupied territories, Hezbollah targeted gatherings of Israeli forces in the illegal settlements of Kiryat Shmona, Kfar Giladi, Margaliot, Avivim, Yir’on, Manara, Katzrin, Sasa, the vicinity of the Kfar Yuval settlement, and the Israeli military’s Ramim barracks with rocket barrages.
In southern Lebanon, the movement ambushed advancing Israeli forces on the eastern outskirts of the town of Shamaa.
Detailing the operation in a statement, it said, “Upon their (the hostile forces’) arrival at the ambush site, the fighters clashed with them at point blank range using machine guns and rocket-propelled grenades, inflicting confirmed casualties among enemy ranks.”
The fighters also targeted an advanced Israeli Merkava tank on the outskirts of the same town with a guided missile, causing it to go up in flames and killing and injuring its occupants.
Hezbollah has been putting up stiff resistance in the face of the Israeli regime’s October 2023-present escalated aggression against Lebanon that has claimed the lives of more than 3,360 people, including women and children, so far.
As witnessed by the Thursday strikes, the retaliation has featured hundreds of successful operations against the occupied territories and the Israeli troops trying to advance on southern Lebanese areas.
On Thursday, the movement said more than 100 Israeli forces had been killed and over 1,000 others wounded as a result of its reprisal.
