Genocide of Palestinians

Israel presses ahead with its deadly strikes on the Gaza Strip more than nine months into the genocide in the blockaded territory. At least 17 Palestinians were killed after the regime attacked an UNRWA school in the Nuseirat refugee camp. The school has housed hundreds of displaced people. Israeli warplanes also pounded Gaza City and Khan Younis, leaving over a dozen people dead. According to the Gaza Health Ministry, 141 Palestinians were killed and some 400 wounded in the past day. Israel launched its genocidal war on Gaza in October last year. More than 38,580 people, mostly women and children have been killed since then.

Tasu's eve mourning

Millions of Muslims across Iran and other countries take part in mourning processions on the eve of Tasu'a, the ninth day of the lunar month of Muharram. Tasu’a precedes Ashura, the day when Imam Hossein, the third Shia imam, was martyred. Shia Muslims hold mourning ceremonies during the first 10 days of Muharram to commemorate Imam Hossein, a grandson of Islam’s Prophet Muhammad and his 72 companions. They were all martyred brutally in the Battle of Karbala, in southern Iraq, in 680 AD after fighting courageously for justice against the much larger army of the then Umayyad caliph, Yazid. Tasu’a mainly mourns Imam Hossain’s brother, Abbas, who made great sacrifices to protect the Imam and his family. Mourners wear black during this time and hold special ceremonies and rituals, mostly reciting the heart-wrenching events of Karbala.

In a social media post following the attack, Trump said he was hit by a bullet that pierced the upper part of his right ear. One spectator was killed and at least two were critically injured. The shooter was also killed at the scene. Meanwhile, a video posted online by the shooter prior to the attack has gained attention in social media. Pennsylvania voter records has listed a Thomas Matthew Crooks with the same address and birth date as a registered Republican.
