Iran's President-elect Masoud Pezeshkian

The heads of the three branches of the Iranian government have extended their congratulations to Masoud Pezeshkian on winning the country’s 14th presidential election.

In his message, Iran’s Acting President Mohammad Mokhber emphasized that the true winners of this national event are the Iranian people, who have demonstrated their determination, steadfastness, and hope throughout different stages of the Islamic Revolution.

Mokhber expressed gratitude to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Shia scholars, the presidential contenders and Iranian nationals.

He wished President-elect Pezeshkian success in fulfilling his great mission and hoped that he would address the nation's demands with the support of the people’s trust.

Mokhber also acknowledged the continuous efforts of those involved in organizing the elections, including the Constitutional Council, the Ministry of Interior, and the executive and monitoring committees.

Iran’s acting president finally expressed hope for a new season of friendship in the country that would result in building a stronger Iran.

Separately, Iran’s Parliament Speaker, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf congratulated Pezeshkian, declaring his full support for the forthcoming administration.

Ghalibaf, a presidential candidate himself, in a message stated that the 14th term presidential election showed the unique and structural authority of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

He said that the election was held in the best possible manner in line with the sublime guidelines of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, and drew people from all political currents just a few weeks after the passing of late President Ebrahim Raeisi in a helicopter crash.

The parliament speaker noted that elections will increase the might of the Islamic establishment on the international stage.

He underlined that the Iranian legislature will cooperate with and fully support the upcoming Iranian administration to help further the development of the country.

Furthermore, Iran's Judiciary Chief Gholamhossein Mohseni-Ejei congratulated president-elect Masoud Pezeshkian, expressing the judicature’s full preparedness to cooperate with the forthcoming administration.

Kan’ani: Iranian nation one again proved loyalty to Islamic establishment

Additionally, the spokesman for Iran’s Foreign Ministry has lauded the participation of people in the country’s runoff presidential election on Friday, stating that the Iranian nation once again stood proud in the test of loyalty to the Islamic establishment.

“The great nation of Iran once again stood proud in the test of loyalty to the holy system of the Islamic Republic and protection of our beloved Iran. Now is the season of empathy, unity and national cohesion for progress and ever-increasing authority of the Islamic Republic of Iran,” Nasser Kan’ani wrote in a post published on his official X account on Saturday.

The top Iranian diplomat went on to extend his congratulations to president-elect Masoud Pezeshkian on his victory in the runoff election, wishing him success in the path of uplifting the country and serving the noble people of Iran under the aegis of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

Pezeshkian received more than 16 million votes (about 53.6 percent) against former nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili with more than 13 million (about 44.3 percent) out of over 30 million votes cast, with the voter turnout standing at about 50 percent, electoral authorities said.

The runoff on Friday followed a June 28 ballot in a snap election to find a successor to President Ebrahim Raeisi who lost his life with his foreign minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and others in a helicopter crash in northwest Iran.

Pezeshkian originally ran against a field of five candidates last week, winning the largest number of votes but falling short of a majority which sent him and Jalili to a second round.

In his first message after the election win, Pezeshkian thanked Iranians who came to vote "with love and to help" the country.

Electoral authorities put participation in the runoff election at around 50 percent.
