Israeli forces have killed at least five Palestinians during a raid in the northern part of the occupied West Bank as the regime intensifies its deadly attacks in the occupied territory.

The official Palestinian news agency WAFA, citing Director of the Jenin Governmental Hospital Wissam Bakr, reported that five dead bodies alongside several critically wounded individuals were taken to the medical facility after Israeli troops stormed the city of Jenin and adjoining refugee camp on Friday.

Israeli military units stormed Jenin with multiple military vehicles, encircling a house on the western flank of the city.

The forces then used loudspeakers to demand the surrender of one of those inside, before attacking the house with shoulder-fired missiles.

WAFA noted that that confrontations erupted between locals and Israeli forces near the besieged house on the outskirts of Jenin refugee camp.

Furthermore, there have been reports of power outages in some areas inside Jenin camp and in the city itself, as Israeli forces have targeted electricity transformers with gunfire.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health identified the five victims as 20-year-old Ahmed Bassem Al-Amouri, Qusay Amjad Hazouz, 23, Fouad Iyad Ashqar, 25, 30-year-old Yassin Al-Aridi, and Muhammad Mahmoud Jabareen, 54.

Since Israel unleashed a war on the besieged Gaza Strip in early October 2023, casualties have been rising in the West Bank as a result of intensified near-daily Israeli raids into villages and cities in the occupied territories.

More than 550 Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank by Israeli forces or extremist Jewish settlers since the war began. Over 9,300 Palestinians have been detained as well.

At least 38,011 Palestinians, most of them women and children, have also been killed in Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip over the past eight months during the regime’s genocidal war.
