Leftists ride economic welfare programs to re-election in Mexico

In Mexico, preliminary results have given the incumbent leftists control of the presidency, with Claudia Sheinbaum winning a landslide victory.

Analysts say the victory reflects the widespread popularity of economic and social welfare programs in a country with a poverty rate of around 40%.
