US-Israeli genocide in Gaza

The death toll continues to rise in Gaza as the US-Israeli onslaught grinds on across the besieged territory. Over 60 people were killed in central Gaza in just 24 hours. To the north and in the city of Beit Lahia, at least 12 people lost their lives in the regime’s latest attacks. Dozens also remain missing there. Relentless Israeli bombings also claimed the lives of 18 people in the southern refugee-packed city of Rafah. That’s where Israeli forces are preparing for a large-scale ground aggression, despite international warnings that it will further deteriorate the already dire humanitarian situation there. Nearly 35,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza since last October when the US-Israeli genocide began. Most of those killed are women and children. Thousands of bodies also remain under the rubble.

Divisions in Israeli cabinet

Divisions are growing among Israeli officials over Gaza. Latest reports say the regime’s Army chief of staff has scolded Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for lacking a strategy on who will govern the strip after Tel Aviv ends its onslaught. According to Israeli media, Herzi Halevi said the army faces, what he called, the sisyphean task of fighting Hamas resistance fighters in areas that have allegedly been captured. Other Israeli army officials have also reportedly been calling on the regime’s political leaders to formulate a strategy. Furthermore, Cabinet members have warned Netanyahu that Israel’s conduct and lack of decision-making were “just risking lives.” Israel launched the Gaza incursion with the declared objective of destroying Hamas. But even the US intelligence community has admitted that the regime will fail to achieve that goal.

Global pro-Palestine rallies

World capitals and major cities acrossd the world have been the scene of protests against the US-Israeli genocide in Gaza. Demonstrators in the German capital, Berlin, staged a new protest against the US-Israeli genocidal war in Gaza. They demanded a halt to arms supplies to the Israeli regime. Hundreds of activists and students also marched in Italy’s northern city of Milan. Similar protests took place in several other Italian cities. Pro-Palestinian protesters also gathered in the downtown Orlando in the US, calling for a ceasefire in Gaza. Police used pepper spray and tear gas against the demonstrators. In Japan, demonstrators took to the streets of the capital Tokyo to slam Israel’s assault on Gaza’s southern city of Rafah. South Koreans also held a rally in the capital Seoul, calling for the liberation of Palestine.
