Despite the International Court of Justice (ICJ) ordering the Israeli regime to “prevent” the acts of genocide in the besieged Gaza Strip, at least 350 Palestinians have been killed over the past 48 hours.
The United States and other allies of the Tel Aviv regime continue to turn a blind eye to the regime’s indiscriminate aerial and ground attacks on Palestinians, mostly children and women, in the coastal strip.
The direct complicity of Western countries in the Israeli genocide in Gaza has not gone unnoticed in cyberspace, with netizens coming up with a new and meaningful hashtag - #AxisOfGenocide.
The Axis of Genocide, as opposed to the Axis of Resistance, includes countries that have in different forms supported the Israeli regime’s genocidal war on Gaza, including through weapons or by blocking funds meant to alleviate the suffering of Palestinians.
The death toll of Palestinians in Gaza is now approaching 27,000, mostly women and children, which doesn’t account for thousands of those still trapped under the rubble.
Social media has been lately abuzz with users slamming both the Israeli regime – the main perpetrator – as well as its key sponsors, including the US, UK, Germany, France, Australia, Italy, Netherlands, etc.
Hebh Jamal, a Palestinian journalist, in a post on X, formerly Twitter, referred to the relentless bloodletting of Palestinians in different parts of the besieged territory, backed by the Western countries.
“Tonight alone Israel killed 40 people in Gaza City and the Nuseirat refugee camp. You think they were kidding when they said nobody will stop them from committing daily massacres,” she asked.
“The Axis of Genocide is alive and strong.”

The axis of genocide is alive and strong.
Asad Abukhalil, a professor at the California State University, in an X post on Saturday, blamed Israel and its chief Western ally – Washington – for continuing to slaughter Palestinians in Gaza.
“We now can safely speak about the axis of genocide, which is led by the US and Israel,” he wrote.

Dan Kervic, who describes himself as a “socialist internationalist”, said it’s time that people around the world pick their side – with the global majority or with the ‘Axis of Genocide’.
“You are either with the global majority and international law and justice, or you are with the Axis of Genocide and its morally corrupt and racist imperial governments,” he tweeted.

Alexandra Halaby, a Palestinian-American activist, denounced the criminal silence of those who watch the Axis of Genocide perpetuate horrendous war crimes against Palestinians in Gaza.
“Palestinians in Gaza are grinding chicken scratch, livestock dried corn, rabbit pellets, and hay to make cornbread cooked on coal stoves,” he wrote.
“This is what life for Palestinians under the #AxisOfGenocide has become. Shame on every person with a voice in their bodies who are silent.”

In another tweet, Halaby remembered Hamam El-Deeb, the slain orthopedic surgery resident at Gaza's Shifa Hospital, while condemning the crimes committed by the regime in the besieged Gaza Strip.
“As part of the #AxisOfGenocide goal to obliterate life, culture, and history of Palestinians in Gaza, physicians have been a major target. This is genocide,” he wrote.
Chandra Desai, Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto, in a tweet called out the double standards and hypocrisy of the ‘Axis of Genocide’.
“If a country in the Global South was accused of plausible genocide, there would be sanctions, arms embargo, ceasefire and then some,” Desai wrote.
“Instead, the West cuts funding to a refugee agency providing life-sustaining services. The hypocrisy & double standards of the Axis of Genocide is."

Aaron Mate, a Grayzone website journalist, slammed the decision of the ‘Axis of Genocide’ to cut funding to the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA).
“The Axis of Genocide, led by the US and Israel, has cut funding to UNRWA, the United Nations agency for Palestinian refugees. If you can, donate to UNRWA here,” he wrote, urging people to donate to the agency.

Ghassan Abu Sitta, a London-based Palestinian doctor who recently spent months in Gaza during the war, denounced the decision of Western countries to defund the UN refugee agency.
“With the defunding of a UNRWA a distinct Axis of Genocide has emerged. Individuals, institutions and countries need to decide: ARE YOU WITH THE AXIS OF GENOCIDE OR AGAINST IT,” he wrote.

Robert Redi, a socialist and unionist from Auckland, New Zealand, termed the decision of his government to suspend funding for UNRWA as “shameful.”
“Strengthening NZ’s (New Zealand) participation as part of the pro-genocide axis. Still, no parliamentary debate on NZ joining this war on the side of genocide,” he tweeted.

Rafeef Garbi, a computer engineer from Vancouver, Canada, also rapped her government, saying Canada has been “isolated” in the world for supporting the genocide in Gaza.
“Check out this thread showing how seriously isolated Canada has become from the rest of the world… A new Axis of Genocide is born: USA, Israel, Canada,” she wrote.
Hartash, an X user, compared the Axis of Genocide with the Axis of Resistance.
“On one side, an Axis of Genocide is in formation as Germany, US, Canada, UK and other ramparts of the imperial order intervene on the side of extermination. On the other, we find an Axis of Resistance made up of those who know colonialism’s wretched face,” he wrote.

Israel waged the genocidal war on besieged Gaza on October 7 after the Palestinian Hamas resistance movement carried out a historic operation against the occupying entity in retaliation for its atrocities against the Palestinian people.
At least 26,422 Palestinians, mostly women and children, have been killed so far and 65,087 others have been injured.
The Israeli regime has also targeted medical facilities, schools, refugee camps and densely populated residential areas.
