Argentina under Javier Milei

On December 10, far-right Javier Milei took office as president of Argentina.

The self-appointed libertarian decreed a neoliberal adjustment through which he imposed the devaluation of the Argentine peso.

Other measures included elimination of subsidies, suppression of state jobs, bankruptcy of media and public companies, reduction of the budget allocated to the provinces and the elimination of measures that protected the internal market, all of this before the satisfied gaze of the political-business castes elevated during the governments of Menem and Macri.
