Israel genocide in Gaza

Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip in the past day have led to the killing of over 700 people. At least 400 of those were killed in attacks on Shujaiya and Jabaliya refugee camps. The latest Israeli attacks targeted a house in al-Junainah area in Rafah, in southern Gaza, leaving several dead. Many people also lost their lives and were injured when a house was targeted by Israeli forces in al-Bridge Camp in the center of the Gaza Strip. Israel has also been continuing its attacks on the eastern areas of Khan Yunis in southern Gaza. Continuous explosions are also heard in northern areas of Gaza as well. The death toll in the besieged territory since October 7 is now around 16000. Most of the victims are women and children. The Gaza Health Ministry says Israeli forces have deliberately targeted 130 health facilities and put 20 hospitals out of service.

US complicity in Israeli crimes

The US defense secretary has reiterated the country’s support for Israel as the regime continues to unleash atrocities in Gaza. Speaking at the Reagan National Defense Forum, Lloyd Austin sought to dispel doubts that the US can afford military support for both Israel in the war on Gaza and Ukraine in the conflict with Russia. He said the US can, in his words, direct resources to multiple theaters. Austin vowed that the US would not allow the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas or Russian president Vladimir Putin to win. The US currently supplies Israel with nearly 3.8 billion dollars in military assistance annually. The White House has also asked for an additional 14 billion dollars for Israel from Congress. This will focus on providing air and missile support and replenishing US military stockpiles given to Israel.

Hezbollah retaliation

Lebanon's Hezbollah resistance movement has launched new retaliatory attacks against Israel. The group said it hit several Israeli bases in Kafr Shuba with missiles. An armoured Israeli vehicle in Beit Haillel was also targeted. The regime has confirmed that four of its soldiers were wounded in the latest attacks. The area along Lebanon’s southern border has frequently witnessed exchanges of fire between Hezbollah and Israel since October 8, a day after Palestinian resistance forces launched Operation Al-Aqsa Flood against Israel.
