Female Iranian taekwondo fighters have claimed the vice-champion title at the conclusion of the 7th edition of the Asian Junior Taekwondo Poomsae Championships in Lebanon.
On Tuesday, the Iranian squad, comprised of Sanaz Taghipour, Fatemeh Salmanizadeh and Shima Nasaji, landed in second place behind South Korea, having notched 7.832 points.
The Philippines rounded off the podium in the third slot.
Moreover, Iranian boys ranked third in the continental sports event and followed representatives from South Korea and Chinese Taipei in the team division, who came first and second respectively.
Hossein Beheshti, who led the Iran men's junior team at the event, was selected as the best coach of the competition.
The 7th edition of the Asian Junior Taekwondo Poomsae Championships was staged in Beirut, Lebanon, on September 5, 2023.
The tournament attracted more than 99 male and female taekwondo practitioners from 17 countries, including Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, India, the Islamic Republic of Iran, Japan, Lebanon, Pakistan, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Thailand and Vietnam.
