New York protest rally decry Jenin raid, demand end to US aid to Israeli regime

Protesters hold a protest rally in front of the UN headquarters in New York to denounce the deadly raid on Jenin and demand the US ends its cooperation with Israel, on July 7, 2023.

Scores of protesters have staged a rally in front of the United Nations headquarters in New York City to condemn the latest Israeli onslaught on the occupied West Bank city of Jenin and demand a halt to age-old US cooperation with the occupying regime.

Participants in the Friday rally in the major US city also carried banners and signs in support of the Palestinian cause, read in part “end the occupation now”  and “Judaism rejects Zionism.”

"The Palestinian people are not put down because of lack of courage, the Palestinian people are put down for US bullets,", one of the protesters said.

"The only thing that stands on its way is the armada of the United States. So the responsibility for the crimes and the blood of our government, to fight this falls upon us, the people within the United States," he added.

“We will continue to stand with the Almighty, with his compassion, to bring a free Palestine like we lived for hundreds of years, when the Arabs and Muslims provided us with homes. Now in Jenin, they just attack Jenin, and every time they claim it is because they are defending themselves. This is false," another participant emphasized.

The Tel Aviv regime launched a major aerial and ground offensive in Jenin and its refugee camp on Monday, brutally killing at least 12 Palestinians, including three children, and injuring dozens.

The military assault marked the largest in the occupied West Bank in around two decades, as the regime deployed armed drones and hundreds of troops against innocent Palestinian civilians.

Israeli troops also forced hundreds of families in the Jenin camp to leave their homes in preparation for demolishing them in purported efforts to reach local resistance fighters.

A steadfast Palestinian resistance response prompted the regime’s troops to eventually pull back from Jenin on Tuesday evening following a 44-hour-long incursion.

The brutal attack drew widespread condemnation from around the world as the Palestinian death toll continues to rise as the result of the regime’s large-scale offensive.
