Israeli atrocities
The death toll from Israel’s airstrikes on Jenin in the occupied West Bank has risen to seven. Nearly 40 Palestinians have also been injured, some of them critically. Regime forces conducted a series of drone strikes on Jenin last night. The Israeli aircraft fired several missiles toward a house in the center of the Jenin refugee camp. Some 2,000 regime forces also raided Jenin, triggering clashes with Palestinian resistance fighters. Separately, two other Palestinians were killed by Israeli fire in the cities of Ramallah and al-Bireh. The developments come two weeks after an Israeli attack helicopter fired into Jenin during another incursion. It was the first airstrike in the occupied West Bank in two decades. Israel has killed at least 160 Palestinians in raids into the area this year, so far.
Israeli state terrorism
Iran has called the latest Israeli attacks on Jenin criminal acts of adventurism and a clear example of state terrorism. Foreign Ministry Spokesman Nasser Kan’ani added that Israel once more proved committing crimes is in Israel's DNA. Kan’ani said this shows negotiations and normalizations would by no means bring a halt to the regime’s atrocities. He called on international organizations to take action to protect Palestinians and deter further strikes against them. The Egyptian foreign ministry has also condemned the attack and called for international intervention to stop them.
LA hotels strike
Thousands of hotel workers in the US state of California have walked out of their jobs, demanding higher wages and better benefits. The workers picketed outside major hotels in Los Angeles and Orange counties on Sunday. They argue that their salaries don’t match the high costs of accommodation as they can’t afford to live near their workplaces. According to the union representing the workers, housekeepers, dishwashers, cooks, and waiters are among the strikers. The union declared the walkout a day after the workers’ contracts had expired at more than 60 hotels. The strike is one of the largest ones hitting the hospitality industry in the US. The industrial action comes as a large number of tourists have arrived in the region for the Fourth of July holiday weekend. It has also coincided with a prolonged Hollywood writers walkout in California.
