French government meets unions only after age hike becomes law

French President Emmanuel Macron has reached record lows in popularity after cutting unions out of their traditional role in the lawmaking process. Unions finally met with the government regarding the recent two-year hike in the pension age, but only nearly a month after the age hike went into law by executive order.
